Developers have added a new event in Fortnite — Winterfest. For two weeks in the "Quests" section, players can collect free gifts. They also added new cosmetics to the game, brought back old event items, and introduced thematic quests. Winterfest will last until December 31, 2023.

  • While Sgt. Winter’s delivering gifts, pick up unvaulted items that may help deliver a win if you use them right:
  • Throw down Holiday Presents! to open them up and grab the loot inside.
  • Put on the Sneaky Snowmando disguise to give your enemies a seasonal surprise.
  • Unleash frozen fury with the explosive Snowball Launcher.
  • Consume a Snowy Flopper to restore some Health and give yourself icy feet.
  • Fling yourself with the Icy Grappler and land with icy feet. (The Icy Grappler will be unvaulted later during Winterfest).

A new temporary mode, "Ship It", will appear. Players must literally "deliver" damage to enemies using throwable weapons and consumable items. The "Ship It" mode is available until January 2nd.

Additionally, the in-game Fortnite store has been updated with gear from the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set. It includes all four heroes - Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello - and thematic items, priced at 3,400 V-bucks. Along with the turtle set, a set with journalist April O'Neil was added to the store for 1,600 V-bucks.
