The second season of Arcane has been a massive success: episode ratings on IMDb exceed 9.0, viewers are thrilled, and Riot Games is considering adapting other stories from the League of Legends universe. However, one big scene in the series didn’t reach its full potential, and no, we’re not talking about the Arcane ending. Spoilers ahead — read at your own risk if you haven’t watched the show. You’ve been warned.

In the eighth episode of the second season, we finally see Vi and Caitlyn share a kiss. Yet, nothing seems to develop further from that moment. Arcane showrunner Christian Linke confirmed that the original version of this scene was much longer and spicier. The reason it didn’t make the final cut is the show’s rating. That single scene could have significantly raised the age restriction, which the creators wanted to avoid.

There’s some good news, though. Animators did complete the scene, and according to Linke, it exists. When asked if fans might ever get to see it, he speculated that it could possibly be released as a standalone clip or in a director’s cut. However, that decision rests more with Riot Games than with him. Still, the possibility is on the table, and in the future, fans might just receive an incredible gift.
