When I was 4 years old, my parents bought me a pirated copy of the NES. Perhaps that was the moment when my life took a completely different turn than it was supposed to.
Over the next 30 years, I dabbled in all sorts of things: architecture, geodesy, media content creation, and even had a serious dive into the watch industry. But throughout all this time, I never stopped gaming. First, it was 8-bit games, then came the PlayStation/Xbox era, followed by my first (and many subsequent) PCs, along with a bit of mobile gaming. And of course, geek culture went hand in hand with that—comics, movies, anime, and more.
The logical next step in this journey would be to create my own game, but for now, it’s all limited to various concepts in design documents.
Perhaps my biggest achievement is being a gaming content creator for over 10 years, since 2013. In that time, I have launched two YouTube channels, releasing over 500 videos on a wide range of games and topics. I’ve attended gaming events, collaborated with publishers, and even worked in gaming media for a while.
All of this has been a huge boost to my personal development—both hard skills, like video editing, design, and SEO, and soft skills, like sharpened critical thinking. Not to mention a deep understanding of how different sectors of the gaming industry work.
After so many years in gaming, I’ve played way too many titles that could be considered favorites. So I’ll just list the ones that come to mind first (of course, I might forget some):
Mass Effect 2, Guitar Hero series, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Darkwing Duck (NES), Chip 'n Dale 2 (NES), Fahrenheit (except for the final AI arc), Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Batman: Arkham City, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Resident Evil 4, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Dark Souls 3, PAYDAY 2, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Mirror's Edge, Marvel: Contest of Champions, Zenless Zone Zero… I think I’ll stop here because I realize I could keep going with this list for a very long time.
