Making a great film about motorsports is an even tougher challenge than adapting a video game. When it comes to Formula 1—the pinnacle of racing—the task becomes nearly impossible. The number of films about this prestigious series can be counted on one hand, and most of them have been failures.

Now, F1 steps onto the scene. A blockbuster starring Brad Pitt, backed by an unprecedented level of support from the sport itself. The film is set to hit theaters in June, and today, a full trailer was released.

The plot setup is painfully cliché: a veteran driver who, for some reason, never fulfilled his potential gets a second chance. In return, he must mentor a young and incredibly talented rookie. We’ve seen this before in Driven with Sylvester Stallone and Gran Turismo by Neill Blomkamp.

That said, both of those films were painfully inaccurate when it came to realism—anyone even remotely familiar with racing could spot countless mistakes. Hopefully, this time, they’ll get it right. One thing’s for sure, though: there won’t be any shortage of adrenaline.
