Marvel has officially released the final trailer for Thunderbolts, their next big theatrical release, set to hit cinemas on May 2, 2025. Based on the comics by Kurt Busiek, the film brings together a team of anti-heroes and former villains forced to work together on dangerous black-ops missions for the U.S. government.

Thunderbolts centers on characters who’ve made some major mistakes in the past — now given one last shot at redemption. As they face lethal missions, they’ll also have to confront their darkest secrets and inner demons. The tone of the trailer leans gritty and intense, hinting at a more grounded, emotional Marvel story.

Directed by Jake Schreier (Beef) and produced by Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, the film features a star-studded cast pulled from across the MCU. It’s already been confirmed that many of these characters will return in the next Avengers movie, meaning Thunderbolts could have major consequences for the wider Marvel universe.

With this being one of Marvel’s darker team-ups, fans are curious to see if it brings a fresh edge to the superhero formula—or sets the stage for something even bigger.
