Valorant’s new patch 10.09 is finally bringing some big nerfs to Tejo, the powerful Colombian Initiator who has been dominating games since his release. Riot Games has taken note of community feedback and made key changes to his abilities, especially his rocket-heavy toolkit.
Tejo’s Guided Salvo has been a major pain point, often wiping out Killjoy’s Lockdown with ease and resetting too often, much like Skye’s Guiding Light. In patch 10.09, that’s changing—Guided Salvo will no longer recharge the same way, making it less of a round-winning spam button.
Riot explained that Tejo’s rockets were creating “unhealthy game states” by being too easy to use without enough downside. So now, it’ll be harder to rely on them to flip rounds effortlessly.
Some of Tejo’s other gear is also getting adjusted. His Stealth Drone will now cost 400 credits, up from before, and his Special Delivery ability drops to 200 credits, making it more affordable. Meanwhile, his ultimate, Armageddon, will require nine ultimate orbs instead of eight, making it a bit tougher to access.
Breach also gets a small change in this update—a tweak to his stun—but this patch is all about balancing Tejo before he completely takes over the meta.
