Valorant is finally coming to mobile, but only in China at first. Riot Games confirmed the news recently, after first teasing a mobile version way back in 2021.
The mobile port is being developed by Lightspeed Studios — the same team behind PUBG Mobile — and like Riot, they’re owned by Tencent. Once Valorant Mobile launches in China, Riot will start looking at releases in other parts of the world.
The announcement sparked some jokes in the Valorant community. Players pointed out that the mobile version might get a replay system before the PC version does. That’s a major frustration for fans, as Valorant still doesn’t have replays on PC, even years after launch.
Right now, Valorant is available on PC, and console versions for Xbox and PlayStation are in the works. Riot also says they’re developing “new game projects” in the Valorant universe, but we haven’t heard any real details yet.
So, while Valorant Mobile is real and coming soon — unless you’re in China, you’ll need to wait a little longer.
