The world of inZOI is full of oddities. The game is still in early access, so bugs are to be expected, but some of them are downright shocking or amusing. Players actively share their funny and creepy stories on social media and forums. We collected 10 of the strangest situations that happened in inZOI.
Playground chaos
On the very first day after release, players started sharing videos and screenshots of bugs related to children. One video went viral, showing a Zoi driving a car at full speed into a child playing on a playground.
The community was shocked. Yes, kids in life sims are often buggy, but no one expected to see this.
The developers admitted it was an unintentional bug that didn't reflect their intentions. The next day, they released a patch that fixed the driving mechanic. A Krafton spokesperson publicly apologized, stressing that such content "does not reflect the values of the game". Still, the internet remembers everything, including that scene.
Kidnapping other people's children
Another questionable flaw in the simulator—again involving kids—was the ability to "kidnap" someone else's baby. Players found out that you could visit neighbors, pick up their infant and calmly walk away with it. The parent Zoi didn't react at all, allowing the baby to be taken.
Another variant—lure an NPC (even a school-age child) into your car and drive off. The game doesn’t penalize this kind of "kidnapping".

In real life, abducting children is a serious crime, but in inZOI, these situations arise due to bugs. The "victims" are automatically returned to their families unharmed.
The developers confirmed that no full-fledged kidnapping mechanics were ever planned—it's just a flaw in the simulation logic. The studio has already fixed the bug, and it's no longer possible to kidnap a Zoi.

Disappearing families
Early patches contained bugs that affected entire families. For example, if a Zoi got married and divorced multiple times in a row, their relatives could simply disappear from the world. Players noticed that after a series of new marriages, their children or former spouses vanished—as if they were wiped from the save file. This kind of grim "family cleanup" was clearly not intended by the developers.

As it turned out, the studio was aware of the issue. In the list of inZOI bugs, there was a warning: "If one character remarries multiple times, some family members may disappear". The devs recommended avoiding serial marriages (especially when kids are involved) until the fix is released.
This advice seems amusing, considering the game is being sold for a full price in early access. But the bug reminded players that a hyperactive love life in a raw build can lead to unpredictable consequences—including sending your relatives into oblivion.
The levitating baby
Bugs involving babies in inZOI probably deserve a separate article. One player posted a video where their infant suddenly started floating in midair. The child calmly rose from the chair and gently pushed it away.
In another case, a parent Zoi tried to pick up a baby, but it froze in front of them, and the adult just clapped their hands through empty space. These scenes looked eerie—the babies ignored gravity.
The community quickly dubbed them "ghost children". In reality, the cause was most likely an animation error. Still, seeing a floating baby feels more appropriate for a horror movie than a life sim. Thankfully, after reloading the save, babies returned to normal behavior.
Distorted features and stretched limbs
And once again—baby model bugs. At this point, it’s not inZOI, it’s baby horror. Social media filled with screenshots of infants with completely unnatural anatomy. One baby had limbs that stretched out unnaturally. Another user shared an even scarier picture—their virtual son suddenly had a grotesquely deformed face, with eyes misaligned and mouth twisted.

These bugs aren’t new for the genre: veteran players remembered famous Sims glitches with long-limbed or terrifyingly ugly babies. In inZOI, the problem clearly came from the wrong animation rig being applied to a child model, which stretched the body to adult proportions.
Despite the shock, many fans responded with humor. People joked about “the ugliest babies in the world” and how every life sim must go through its cursed baby phase.
Rotten food walks
Even simple things like cleaning plates can cause serious trouble for a Zoi. One player described a case where their character flatly refused to throw away spoiled food. The “Clean up” button stopped working, and the Zoi just kept walking around holding a dirty plate.

Eventually, they had to delete the plate manually through build mode, as normal commands didn’t help. The funniest part—the character even seemed to feel sick from the smell.
Silent family dinners
In real life, shared meals are a time for conversation and bonding. Not in inZOI. Players noticed a strange issue: Zois are unable to talk during meals or while cooking. If a Zoi is eating, they stay completely focused on the fork and plate—conversations are off the table.

Developers promised to add multitasking in future patches, but for now, every mealtime feels like a scene from a silent film.
Stuck in the furniture

Like any large sandbox, inZOI allows characters to literally get stuck in walls. Users repeatedly reported bugs where a Zoi got trapped inside an object—like a sofa—and couldn’t get out. The Zoi would remain frozen, merged with the furniture.
To fix this, the developers added a special Emergency Rescue function. It teleports the stuck Zoi to a nearby point. The early Sims games had similar issues, though sadly, without a rescue button.
Disappearing NPCs
Beyond vanishing families, there are other cases where NPCs suddenly go missing. Some players complained that after certain events, their virtual partner simply disappeared from the house.
For example, the Zoi went to work—and when they came back, the spouse was gone. Still present in the relationship list, but not in the world.

Players joked that it was an alien abduction or a runaway spouse. In reality, it was just another technical issue—likely caused by faulty family data handling.
The devs acknowledged the problem and are working on a fix. Still, stories of “vanished wives and husbands” are already becoming a classic of early inZOI—much like the infamous Sims babies. Better make backups, just in case your partner disappears after moving in.
All Zois are straight
After a few hours of gameplay, players started wondering why there weren’t any LGBT characters in town. In inZOI, players can set sexual orientation for their own Zois, but it turned out that all procedurally generated NPCs were heterosexual.

It might have seemed like a deliberate choice, but it was actually another early-access bug. The studio officially acknowledged the lack of same-sex attraction among NPCs and added the bug to their priority fix list. Due to a technical issue, not a single townsperson could start a romance with someone of the same gender, even though that feature was planned.
The new life simulator has already gifted players plenty of bizarre stories. Most of these bugs are either funny or strange, but expected in early access. The developers are actively patching issues, and over time, the game will become more stable and consistent. But for now, these weird situations give inZOI its unique charm—the community discusses them, shares memes, and embraces the chaos.
