Sometimes, during the game, you might think, "I wish I knew this earlier". To save you from that, we've gathered 10 useful tips for beginners in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2!
What should you know before starting Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
It's a large-scale RPG with many interconnected systems that make the world feel truly alive. For newcomers to the genre or those who haven't played the first installment, it can be difficult to grasp all the mechanics — and we're here to help.
Even the save system here works in an unusual way — and that's where we'll start.

Savior Schnapps
The game automatically saves during important story moments, when you sleep in your bed, or when you quit the game. To save whenever you want, you'll need Savior Schnapps — an alcoholic drink that's not easy to come by.
There are a couple of ways to stock up in advance. Sometimes merchants sell Schnapps, so if you have enough money, buy it whenever you see it. A more reliable method is brewing Schnapps yourself using alchemy.
Don't forget that the drink contains alcohol — if Henry is already tipsy, saving with Schnapps may increase his intoxication to a critical level.

Find Mutt
The dog Mutt is an extremely useful companion who helps in combat, detective investigations, and even improves your stats with certain skill upgrades in his branch. As soon as you get the chance to look for him through a quest — do it right away so you don't miss out on his help.

Bargain
Always negotiate when buying or selling goods. You can almost always agree on slightly better terms. Groschen are never excessive, especially at the start of your journey.

Learn from Teachers
If you enjoy sword fighting, be sure to visit the Gypsy Camp. There's an excellent instructor who will teach you special techniques.
In general, don't hesitate to spend Groschen on skill training from teachers.

Drying and Smoking
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you need to eat. Over time, food spoils, so to preserve it longer, meat can be smoked in smokehouses, and other food can be dried in drying cabinets.
Herbs and mushrooms needed for potions also deteriorate. Their shelf life increases if you dry them.

Personal Chest
In tavern rooms where you've rented a place or in other locations where you're allowed to sleep, you'll usually find your personal chest. You can store items in one chest and retrieve them from any other chest considered yours — they are synchronized. This is a great way to store all unnecessary or heavy items.
Stolen items placed in a personal chest will no longer be considered stolen. It takes a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 12 days to remove this status, depending on the item's value — the more expensive the item, the longer it takes.

Appearance Matters
One of the most important elements of the game's RPG system. If Henry smells bad, wears torn or cheap clothes, people will treat him worse than a stray dog.
Wash yourself in basins or bathe in bathhouses to remove smell, dirt, and blood from yourself and your clothes. You can also clean your clothes with soap at special water locations.
Repair your clothes or buy new ones with good stats. A well-dressed Henry can appear as a nobleman to many people, making persuasion easier. Armor and bloodstains, on the other hand, are great intimidation tools.
As you can see, different outfits are needed for different situations. There's a preset option in the inventory to quickly switch between outfits — dress as a knight before battle, tidy up for important conversations, or strip down for stealthy theft.

Monitor Your Stamina
During combat, stamina drains quickly, like wine from a broken jug. When your screen starts turning gray due to exhaustion, it's best to back away from the enemy and rest. Without stamina, you can't block attacks, and taking hits reduces your maximum stamina.
Avoid overeating, as it lowers your maximum stamina. An opponent who tires slower than Henry will rarely leave openings in their defense.

Alchemy and Blacksmithing
Advanced alchemy allows you to quickly craft many potions, including the Savior Schnapps required for saving the game. Gathering herbs also increases Henry's Strength stat — a nice bonus for a warrior-alchemist.
As a blacksmith, you can create items like weapons and horseshoes. Don't forget to sharpen your weapons, or they will degrade with prolonged use.
By mastering crafts, you can create the best potions and weapons in the game — and earn Groschen by selling your creations.

Side Quests
The game world is full of side quests, many of which are as engaging and varied as the main storyline. If you only complete main quests, some side quests will become unavailable after certain story events — and you'll miss out on their rewards.
