How to use cheats in Valheim
To modify the game, you will definitely need to learn how to activate the console. There you will enter the necessary commands.
Activating the console
The steps for activating the console:
- Go to Steam.
- Open your library and find Valheim.
- Right-click on the game title and select "Properties".
- Go to the "General" tab and find the "Launch Options" field.
- Directly in this field, enter –console.
- Close all tabs and enter the game.
Now in the game, you can activate the console by pressing the F5 key. After that, enter the command "devcommands" and press Enter.
However, keep in mind that they will only work stably in single-player mode.
Cheats for single player mode

- tod — set a specific time of day. Enter a value between 0 and 1;
- event [name] — start a specific event.
- stopevent — stop the current event;
- randomevent — start a random event;
- raiseskill [skill] [amount] — increase the value of a specific skill;
- resetcharacter — reset all character stats;
- dpsdebug — enable and disable dps debug output;
- save — save your game world;
- players [nr] — change difficulty, entering "0" will reset the difficulty;
- removedrops — remove all items from the ground in sight;
- wind [angle][intensity] — change wind direction and intensity;
- resetwind — reset wind direction and intensity.
Activate creative mode
In single-player mode, you also have access to a special developer mode that opens up several cool possibilities. For example, flying or free building without resources.
To activate, you need to enter the command debugmode in the console. After that, you will be able to use unique features by pressing hotkeys:
- B — activate "creative mode", where you don't need a workbench or resources;
- Z — flight. Space lifts the character up, Ctrl lowers down;
- K — kill all enemies and neutral creatures within reach.
Commands for online play
During multiplayer gameplay, the server administrator can use a small list of commands to manage the game process.
- help — view all available commands;
- kick [name / ip / userID] — kick a specific player out;
- ban [name / ip / userID] — ban a specific player;
- unban [ip / userID] — unban a specific player;
- banned — show the list of banned players;
- ping — view ping;
- lodbias [number] — set the draw distance for the server. The number can be set from 1 to 5.
- info — view all system information.
