If you've ever played life sims and thought, "What if my character became not just an IT guy but also a bit of a cybercriminal?"—then inZOI might pleasantly surprise you. In this Korean take on The Sims by KRAFTON, you can not only build cozy homes and watch cats but also try your hand at bank heists. You won’t storm a branch with shotguns and masks (the game’s more about subtlety), but hacking ATMs or banks? Absolutely possible.Ā

Let’s see how "legal" this is… well, at least within the game’s world.

Types of Heists in the Game

The developers cleverly (if predictably) sidestepped violence restrictions—you rob banks not with force but with brains. Here are the two main forms of digital crime for ambitious (and not-so-honest) characters.

Bank Hacking via Computer

The cleanest way to rob a bank. Your character doesn’t leave home, risk their life, or even change out of pajamas—just sits at a computer… to mildly hack the banking system.

Key details:

  • Requires Programming skill level 10+.
  • Access the "Hack Bank" action in the computer’s skill menu.
  • A pop-up appears: Continue, Cancel, or Risk It.

Outcomes:

  • Success: +1000 Meows (almost legit money).
  • Failure: 500 Meows fine.
  • Cancel: Nothing happens—just close the laptop and go to bed.

But don’t think you can spam this—there’s a 3-day cooldown between hacks.

ATM Hacking

Now this is where things get risky. If bank hacking is for pajama-clad geniuses, ATMs are for the desperate and slightly unhinged.

Requirements:

āļø Bad or Terrible Karma.

āļø High enough Programming skill.

If conditions are met, find an outdoor ATM and select "Hack" from the shady actions menu.

Risks:

ā—ļø Low needs (hunger, exhaustion)? Electrocution and death.

ā—ļø Fail? Cops show up—arrest, trial, jail (yes, justice exists here).

So, before tampering with ATMs, maybe feed your wannabe gangster and let them sleep.

Karma & Consequences

inZOI’s karma system directly impacts what actions your character can take and how others perceive them—similar to Fallout or Mass Effect. Want to be law-abiding? Go ahead. But if crime calls, prepare to slide down the morality scale.

To hack ATMs, your character needs "Bad" or "Terrible" karma. No karma, no crime—even for elite hackers. So first, dabble in petty mischief, then escalate to cybercrime.

But it’s not that simple: every bad deed has ripple effects, including:

āŒ Police arrests.

āŒ Jail time.

āŒ Electrocution mid-"job" (worst-case scenario).

Even if you succeed, society treats you worse—career hurdles, social stigma, and strained relationships.
