What types of doors are there in Minecraft?
A door can be crafted from any type of wood. This means it can be made from birch, spruce, oak, or bamboo blocks. The material does not affect its durability or protection against mobs, as only zombies, Husk, or Vindicator can break it, while for other enemies, just keeping it closed is enough.
Opening and closing the door happens mechanically, so you will need to right-click twice to open it and then close it again.
Wooden Door

The standard mechanical type, which is one of the first items crafted in the game. To build a wooden door, approach a crafting table and place 6 planks, 3 in each column.

Iron Door
Similarly to the wooden version, to craft this door, you’ll need 6 iron ingots. Once you have the necessary resources, just approach the crafting table and place them in the slots as shown in the image.

Unlike wooden counterparts, iron doors have high fire resistance and durability against any type of mobs, so no enemy can break into your home while you’re outside or sleeping inside.

Automatic Door

When stepping on this special block, the nearby door will open. Note that this mechanic works not only for players but also for monsters, so it is not recommended to place these plates outside — unless, of course, you want to fight some mobs late at night.
Mechanical Automated Door
In addition to doors crafted with a crafting table, Minecraft also allows players to create their own mechanical doors. However, crafting one of these requires a lot of resources, specifically:
- 4 sticky pistons;
- 2 solid blocks of any material (concrete, wood, etc.);
- 4 solid blocks for the door itself;
- Redstone dust and torches;
- 2 pressure plates.
