Regardless of whether the player wants to complete Tera Raid battles with five and six stars or climb the ranked ladder in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, proper stat distribution is crucial. If the player is simply trying to level up their fighter through wild Pokémon hunting, they will end up with a character that has suboptimal, and sometimes below-average, stats.

Fortunately, there are several locations in the game where farming EV Attack is relatively easy. This guide provides a detailed breakdown of the best spots.

Best Places to Farm Attack EV in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Pokémon Center Area – North Province (Area Two)

This area has long been considered the best spot for Effort Values training by the community. It is located along the northeastern border of the region, near Team Star’s Fighting Crew base.

The wooded environment is rich with Pokémon that grant only Attack EVs, such as:

  • Lokix;
  • Scyther;
  • Bisharp;
  • Heracross;
  • Dratini;
  • Ursaring.

Not all fighters provide a pure increase in Effort Values. For example, Falinks gives a mixed increase in Attack and Special Defense. If your goal is to maximize damage, you'll need to battle often and a lot.

If you want to earn a fixed amount of Effort Values, the best choice is the eastern outskirts of Porto Marinada. Just outside the city, you can find groups of Paldean Tauros. Defeating one will grant 2 EVs, and with a Power Bracer, this number can reach up to 10. This allows you to quickly accumulate the required points and then remove the item to fine-tune the exact value.

Next, we’ll explain in detail how to use this accessory correctly and efficiently.

How to Use the Power Bracer for EV Training

Before heading out to hunt, proper preparation is essential! The Power Bracer is a useful item that can be given to a Pokémon while training its Effort Values. When you defeat a wild Pokémon, it grants an additional +8 attack bonus. This significantly speeds up the training process. This significantly speeds up the training process.

For example, if a Pokémon gives only 1 EV, with this useful accessory, the total value will be 9. If you defeat a creature that provides this bonus to another stat, the fighter will receive 8 additional points on top of the usual ones. While there are faster methods, this option is more economical, as it costs less than buying large amounts of vitamins.

This item can be purchased at Delibird Presents stores for 10,000. The branches are located in Mesagoza, Levincia, and Cascarrafa.

Sometimes a Pokémon population outbreak occurs, where you can earn additional Effort Values. This is the optimal way to accumulate the desired bonus, although it is not very stable. Below, we will go into detail about the two most useful creatures that will help you with efficient training.

Flamigo

Flamigo Image: reddit.com

Flamigo are fairly common and are mostly found near lakes and swamps. This means they appear at a wide range of levels, allowing you to battle them even at levels below 10. For example, you can find them in the southeastern lakes of the South Province, near Grasswither Shrine.

If you're looking for higher-level Flamigo to gain more experience, check Casseroya Watchtower No. 1, located south of the lake with the same name. These unusual creatures spawn frequently in this area, especially when the "Encounter Power: Fighting" bonus is active, making them easy to locate.

However, keep in mind that Flamigo in this area are around level 50, so make sure your team includes Pokémon that can take them down quickly.

When choosing a battle location, try to avoid opponents between levels 9 and 20, as they may have the ability "Detect", which slows down battles by forcing them to waste a turn on defense. Fortunately, Pokémon within this level range are rarely found in the recommended locations.

Paldean Tauros

This bull Pokémon can be found in several locations, mainly in the central-western and central-eastern parts of the region. No matter where you look, they usually appear in groups of five, making them easy to find — especially if you have a bonus that increases the encounter rate for Fighting-type Pokémon.

A helpful tip: for optimal and efficient training, it's best to hunt them south of Levincia.

The only downside to battling Paldean Tauros, compared to Flamigo, is that some of them have the "Intimidate" ability, which slightly slows down the fight. Nevertheless, they remain a great choice for mid-level battles and are very easy to locate.

EV Attack Training Recommendations

Both Flamigo and Paldean Tauros are excellent options for training. They are often found in groups, making it easy to find the required number, and in addition, they award 2 points of the desired bonus by default. If you wear a Power Bracer, defeating one of these creatures will grant a total of 10 points, meaning that only 26 battles are needed to reach the Effort Value cap of 252.

It’s also important to note that Paldean Tauros gives 2 Attack EVs, while the regular version of this creature, found only in the wild, grants just 1 point. Therefore, it is highly recommended not to use the Kantonian version for Attack training!

Both of these Pokémon belong to the Fighting type, and luckily, there’s a special food item that helps trainers track them down. The "Tropical Sandwich", available at Every Wich Way, grants the "Encounter Power: Fighting Lv. 1" bonus, making it easier to find Fighting-type Pokémon.

Another important item to mention is the Kelpsy Berry. At first, it may seem counterproductive since it reduces EVs gained through training, but it serves an important purpose!

If you accidentally exceed the desired Effort Values for your Pokémon, you can use a Kelpsy Berry to lower its Attack EVs by 10 points, allowing for precise stat distribution.

EV Attack training in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet requires patience and attention to detail, but the effort is well worth it. Use locations like North Province Area Two for quick EV gains. Don't forget to equip a Power Bracer to speed up progress. Flamigo and Paldean Tauros remain the best targets, especially during mass outbreaks. Avoid auto-battles and Pokémon with unnecessary abilities to save time and maximize efficiency.
