Happiness in inZOI depends on several game mechanics. It’s shaped by traits, desired life, values, urges, karma and in‑game items. Every player choice influences Zoi’s mood. We’ve studied the system inside out and here’s what we found.
Traits

Traits form the foundation of Zoi’s behavior. They define core values, shape social circles and determine hobby preferences. This mechanic decides which activities bring delight and which trigger irritation. Traits also influence how quickly Zoi masters particular skills.
Desired Life

Desired life is similar to the life path in The Sims. It sets long‑term goals and priorities for the character. Just like traits it guides Zoi’s preferences and helps rank what matters most. For example, career‑focused characters put work first, seek promotions and aim to complete every task.
Values

Desired life and traits shape Zoi’s values. For instance, family‑oriented characters value home comfort, love and raising children. Values determine which actions feel rewarding and which cause inner conflict. A hero with the value "Service to Society" gladly helps others and feels upset when breaking rules or causing harm.
Urges

Urges arise from traits, ambitions and the current situation. They pop up spontaneously, reflecting how Zoi reacts to the world. For example, being near a partner may trigger an interaction urge. If needs drop, the hero might wish to take a bath, sleep or eat. Only up to four urges appear at once and each expires after a set time. Hover over an urge to see why it showed up. Fulfilling them grants zoi coins and temporary mood boosts.
Meow Shop

In the "Meow Shop" Zoi spends earned zoi coins on donuts that restore needs or adjust mood. The shop is always available, but new items unlock only after completing urges or ambition milestones.
Ambitions

Ambitions are major lifetime goals covering career, finances, health, family, knowledge, creativity, love, social role and even criminal activities. Each ambition splits into stages and finishing each stage rewards zoi coins. As tasks grow tougher so do the rewards. You can switch ambitions at any time.
Karma

Karma acts as Zoi’s moral compass. It shifts based on the hero’s actions. Positive social deeds like helping others raise karma while aggressive or criminal acts lower it. Karma level changes available actions—for example, low‑karma Zoi can hack ATMs. You can view the karma rating in the City Editor under "Karma Report."

Preferences

When creating your character you choose up to ten preferences to boost happiness triggers. To increase happy moments add more "Likes" than "Dislikes." Too many "Dislikes" mean more irritants and frequent bad‑mood effects. That makes keeping Zoi happy a real challenge.
How to Make Zoi Happy

To truly keep Zoi joyful, tailor everything to traits and goals. Pick activities he loves, follow his current ambition and fulfill urges promptly—this way he steadily earns zoi coins and mood buffs. In the "Meow Shop" buy donuts that refill needs and lift spirits. At creation, load up on "Likes" and minimize "Dislikes" so there are fewer irritations and more happy moments. Have fun playing!
