Split Fiction is a new co-op game filled with diverse bosses featuring unique mechanics. One of them is .exe-QT-3.14. In this article, we’ll walk you through how to defeat this enemy, break down its mechanics, and offer some helpful battle recommendations.
Who is .exe-QT-3.14?
.exe-QT-3.14 is one of the mandatory bosses in the game, specifically designed to test your patience. Its attacks are fast and have a wide area of effect (AoE), making them difficult to avoid—especially for the small character models of our main heroes. Many of its attacks are one-hit kills, and the arena shrinks as the fight progresses, meaning you can’t simply tank its mechanics. If you’re not careful, you could easily die or find yourself trapped behind a platform, falling to your doom due to gravity.

We’ve broken down the boss’s mechanics into phases to make it easier for both you and us to navigate the fight. Due to its complexity, some players consider it the hardest boss in the game, so ignoring it would be a grave mistake. Now, let’s get into the battle itself.
Phase One
The first attack we'll analyze is the punch. The robot scans the area with its fist and launches it into the zone. We recommend not focusing on the laser but on where the boss places its fist to avoid getting hit by the attack radius. After the laser, the attack happens almost instantly, so we suggest stepping back while the laser is in use, not after it.

The next mechanic is rockets. The boss launches rockets, which will land one after another on the ground. Your task is to avoid stepping into the circle that highlights on the floor. Of course, if you get hit by a rocket, you won't die, but you'll take massive damage. The interesting part is that the delay between the rocket firing and landing is long enough that you can avoid getting hit without even using the dash. The key here is to stay alert.

The boss launches metallic discs with spikes, resembling grinder discs. These discs are not launched in one direction but across the entire arena, so there is no safe zone where you can just stand and wait it out. Our task is to use the jump and dash forward to avoid getting hit by the attack radius.

When the boss says, "Clean up protocol," get ready for his next attack—a fiery barrage. He will open a mechanism in his arm, from which fire will be emitted. You won't be able to jump over it on your own— you’ll die in the fire and have to start over, but we will have some help.

During this attack, trampolines (buttons) will appear, which will throw you into the air. You need to time it carefully to make sure the arm is near you when you jump, or you risk dying.

The arena will be divided into sections, and the boss will move his arm towards a random platform. When you see that the platform you're standing on is within the boss's attack radius (meaning his arm is directly beneath you), run to another platform as quickly as possible.

The boss will shoot six times, and on the seventh, platforms will begin to collapse. We recommend staying on the upper side of the platform, not the lower one, since the boss will focus on the opposite side, while the next phase will take place on the other part of the arena.

Phase Two
Finally, it’s time to bring the heat to the mechanical tyrant! The boss will slam his left arm onto the arena, but it will get stuck, and he will say: "Hull struck, Limb stuck." You will then see an exposed mechanism glowing green. To deal with it, Zoi must use her ability.

The boss will take damage, and after three strikes with his arm, it will lift into the air and land back on the arena.

The key here is to avoid standing too close to it. If the arm falls on you, you’ll die instantly. This time, Mio will need to use her ability to give the boss a hard slap.

Next, the boss will rip off his left arm and start attacking you with it. His first attack is a huge swipe across the arena. He will use his arm like a flyswatter, and your task is to avoid the radius of the hit. When the arm is close to you, try to dash and run to the opposite side while it’s in the air.

The next mechanic involves a barrage of projectiles, but much more intense than in phase one. As before, the boss will launch projectiles at you, but this time he will first smack them with his hand. As a result, they will fly faster, and instead of coming one after another, they will all launch at the same time, leaving you much less time to dodge. As before, use your dash and avoid the attack radius.

Now, the right arm will get stuck, and the boss will say: "Another roadblock. Limb stuck." You’ll need to repeat the same actions, so we won’t focus on that part. Let’s move on to the next mechanic!

The arena will split into several parts again, and the boss will start flying above you, attempting to roast you with his jet flames. Your task here is to use your dash and run quickly, trying to stay out of the danger zone.

Once the arena returns to its original form, the boss will begin using his head as a laser. The laser will first sweep 180 degrees, then circle counterclockwise. Your task is to simply jump over it! Over time, the laser will speed up, making the pattern feel like jumping rope—timing is key.
Start jumping when the laser is about a quarter of the way around the circle, or when the boss’s head is facing 3 o’clock. This delay will help you avoid damage.
This is his final attack. After this, Mio will need to enter his head, and the cutscene will begin.
