The fifth generation debuted in 2011. Its evolution culminated in two games that are still regarded by many trainers as some of the best in the series. Indeed, Black & White are sparkling gems of their time, rightfully retaining many fans over the years.
Fans loved its lively plot, interesting setting, stunning style, and characters. But what particularly stood out to players both at release and over time was the incredibly cool roster of available Pokémon. In this selection, we’ll discuss the 10 strongest creatures from the fifth generation. Let's dive in!
Victini

Let's start our list with the mythical Pokémon, which could perhaps be called a model of balance. It could be found in Liberty Garden, and to access this location, you needed a Liberty Pass, which could be obtained by connecting to Nintendo Wi-Fi and visiting the nearest Pokémon Center.
Victini is a very interesting Pokémon of mixed Psychic/Fire type, with no evolutions. All of its stats are 100, which makes this fighter, on the one hand, a true all-rounder, but on the other hand, it weakens him to the same extent. He might not withstand the damage from opponents trying to outplay him. But when it's Victini's turn to attack, beware of those who get in its way.
This is one of the two fighters with the V-create ability — arguably one of the best Fire-type moves in the entire game. When it hits the opponent, this attack lowers their Defense and Speed stats, making them vulnerable to subsequent attacks. Skillfully using tactical windows can greatly increase your chances of winning a battle against any opponent.
Keldeo

Another Mythical fighter on our list is Keldeo. It belongs to the Swords of Justice group, just like several other Legendary creatures from this list. As a Water/Fighting-type Pokémon, it can deal impressive damage with its hits. This applies both to attacks of each type individually and to its Special Attack.
One of its main weapons is Secret Sword. This move has impressive damage and 100% accuracy. The Water-type attack Hydro Pump has slightly lower accuracy at 85%, but it deals 50% more damage compared to the previous move. This moveset provides everything needed for victory in any battle. In fact, Keldeo can dominate opponents almost single-handedly.
Genesect

Eighth on our list is probably the strongest Bug-type Pokémon overall — Genesect. It combines types that complement each other: Steel, which helps cover the traditional weaknesses of Bug-type Pokémon.
A fairly fast fighter that can be adapted to a variety of battle strategies. Genesect is like a Swiss army knife — if developed and used correctly, it can solve many difficult situations in favor of its trainer. Its attacking moves, such as Iron Head and U-Turn, deal more than enough damage. Moves like Ice Beam and Flamethrower add even more flexibility to its offensive capabilities.
Meloetta

Meloetta is also known as The Melody Pokémon. It can use Relic Song to switch between two forms: Pirouette and Aria. In the first, she performs graceful dances, while in the second, she sings beautifully sounding songs.
In addition, the forms affect the fighter's stats, either boosting Special Attack and Special Defense, or Attack and Speed. This gives the character enough flexibility to quickly adapt to a drastically changed battle situation.
Meloetta earned its place in the top for precisely this flexibility. Although its abilities are less varied than those of Genesect, their overall effectiveness can help any trainer outplay their opponent. All you need to do is predict the battle's scenario and use Relic Song at the right time to switch to the most suitable form.
Kyurem

Now let's move on to the first Legendary Pokémon in our list — Kyurem. This Dragon/Ice-type fighter has great HP, Attack, and Special Attack stats. Kyurem doesn’t evolve, but it can still be developed using DNA Splicers. It can be found in Giant Chasm at the northern end of Route 13.
However, even in its original form, Kyurem is one of the strongest creatures of the fifth generation. By fusing it with Reshiram, you get White Kyurem, which boosts its Attack stat. Similarly, by fusing it with Zekrom, you get the black version of the fighter, which enhances its Special Attack stat. This dragon has extraordinary defensive capabilities, allowing it to stay in the fight where others would have already been knocked out.
Virizion

Along with the previously mentioned Keldeo and two other members of this list, Virizion belongs to the group Swords of Justice. This Pokémon doesn't evolve, but it has impressive stats from the start. You can find it in Rumination Field in Pinwheel Forest.
Its notable strengths include Speed and Special Defense. Combined with solid HP, Special Attack, and Attack, these advantages make Virizion a tough opponent even for the strongest foes. If you avoid exposing it to destructive physical attacks, this Pokémon can endure quite a bit, if not everything.
Cobalion

He is the leader of the Swords of Justice. This tough warrior can be found in Mistralton Cave, on the upper level of the location known as the Guidance Chamber.
It has moderately high HP, Attack, and Special Attack, complemented by high Speed and strong Defense. It is somewhat of a counterpart or complement to Virizion, as it has a lower Special Defense compared to other stats. Just as impressive as its companions, Cobalion is also strong when used correctly. There are opponents it will crush without noticing, but there are also those who may prove too tough for it.
Terrakion

Terrakion is the heavy hitter of the Swords of Justice. It embodies devastating physical damage. With high Attack and Speed, and moderately boosted HP, Defense, and Special Defense, it's a fearsome fighter. Its weakness is its low Special Attack stat, which could be a drawback against well-defended opponents. Though its use is situational, Terrakion can be a game-changer for any trainer.
Tornadus

Exclusive to Black, Tornadus was included in this list partly because of personal preference. Forgive us; we just really like it!
Seriously, this fighter, compared to its White counterpart Thundurus, is, in our opinion, more balanced. Its weakest points are Defense and HP, while the other stats are on par and without any significant imbalance.
A remarkable stat set, a fantastic design, and legendary status. Additionally, Tornadus is the only Pokémon in our top 10 with a pure Flying type. To succeed with it, a trainer just needs to know how to utilize its versatility, although it does have the drawback of weak defense.
Zekrom/Reshiram

These two are true legends in every sense. No matter how you reach Dragonspiral Tower, you won’t get far in the story without capturing either Reshiram in White or Zekrom in Black. These dragons are the mascots of the games and certainly some of the strongest in the entire roster.
Both share the Dragon type, but then the differences start to emerge. Zekrom has the Electric element and boasts an immensely powerful Attack stat. On the other hand, Reshiram, being a Fire-type, excels in Special Attack. Their other stats, except for Speed, are equal to or greater than 100.
Compared to other top-tier Pokémon, this pair might seem a bit slow. But this small drawback is more than acceptable given their other abilities and the immense advantages they provide their trainer in battle.
This is our top 10 strongest Pokémon of the fifth generation. Do you have your own favorites in Black & White? Be sure to share them in the comments!
