On April 12, 2025, during the JOJODAY event, the anime adaptation of Hirohiko Araki’s seventh manga arc, Steel Ball Run, was officially confirmed. The series will once again be animated by David Production, the studio responsible for all previous parts of the franchise.
Steel Ball Run shifts the narrative to an alternate 19th-century America, where a grand transcontinental horse race takes place from San Diego to New York. At the heart of the story are Johnny Joestar, a former jockey who lost his ability to walk, and Gyro Zeppeli, a mysterious warrior who wields a unique spinning power. Their journey is filled with danger, political conspiracies, and supernatural powers, making this arc a favorite among longtime fans.
The previous anime installment, Stone Ocean, concluded in December 2022, leaving fans eager for the next chapter. While there’s no exact premiere date yet, Steel Ball Run is expected to air by the end of 2026. A teaser and more details are anticipated soon. Fans can prepare for another wild ride in JoJo’s ever-evolving universe.
