The most popular mobile esports event peaked with several million viewers. Unfortunately for those fans in Kuala Lumpur cheering for their local athletes, the victory went to Fnatic ONIC PH. In the final, they defeated Team Liquid ID with a score of 4:1.
It must be acknowledged that these two teams were much stronger than the rest of the competition. Although Team Liquid ID gained their form as the tournament progressed (a 3-2 record in the Swiss stage can't be called a major success), no one else was able to compete. Selangor Red Giants and Team Spirit had impressive runs through the lower bracket, but they were not destined to reach the grand final.
The Red Giants, though they reached the final stage and played in front of their home crowd at the Axiata Arena, were destroyed by Team Liquid ID with a score of 0:3. Team Spirit can take pride in being the only non-Asian team not just in the top 4 but in the playoffs at all.
For their victory, the players of Fnatic ONIC PH earned $320,000, while Team Liquid took home $150,000. The next World Championship, the M7 World Championship, will take place in Indonesia in January 2026.
