One of the modern faces of North American esports, Sentinels player TenZ, has decided to retire from the professional Valorant scene.

According to TenZ, he had considered retiring at the start of the year, but ultimately decided to play one final season. After joining Sentinels in 2021, he became a champion of the VCT North America and won two majors: in Reykjavík in 2021 and in Madrid in 2024. He also secured a fourth-place finish at VALORANT Champions 2024.

TenZ began his Valorant career in 2020 with Cloud9. During his time between teams, he temporarily stepped away from the pro scene to focus on content creation. After retiring, he will remain with Sentinels as a streamer.

It’s worth noting that TenZ is following a path similar to Shroud, who retired at the height of his career after achieving great success as a pro player to focus on streaming. Shroud's transition proved to be a winning move. Will TenZ be able to convert his popularity into successful streams and quality content? We wish him the best of luck in his next chapter.
