Records are meant to be broken. However, there are some records that are better if left untouched. Recently such an infamous record was broken.
The match between Wildcard Gaming and 4 Zoomers in the DreamLeague Season 26 North American qualifiers for Dota 2 lasted only 6 minutes and 4 seconds, setting a new record for the fastest game in pro Dota history. This was highlighted by Noxville, with statistics provided by datdota.com.
The record-breaking game occurred on the second map of the series. The players of 4 Zoomers forfeited after their midlaner bought back after dying and then disconnected from the game. As a result, Wildcard Gaming secured a 2-0 victory. Such rage quits don't make this record worthy. It is not showing the strength of the winner but the weakness of the loser.
The previous record for the fastest pro match was set in 2012 during the BeyondTheSummit World Tour, when EHOME demolished Moscow Five in just 6 minutes and 37 seconds.
