Developers from Remedy Entertainment have released The Lake House expansion for Alan Wake 2. Along with this, a free anniversary update is now available across all platforms, adding a cheats menu and new control customization options.

The Lake House expansion is available for Deluxe Edition owners. Another addition to the expanded edition is Alan Wake’s classic outfit. As for the update sizes across platforms, they are as follows:

  • PC — 20 GB;
  • Xbox Series — 18 GB;
  • PlayStation 5 — 15 GB.

In addition to cheats and extra control settings, developers have improved flashlight usability, and it is now easier to unlock the words of power. Picking up resources from containers will no longer cause "weird" camera movements. Various bugs were also fixed, and the full list of changes can be found on the game’s website.

Another interesting feature of the free patch is the addition of support for enhancements on the PlayStation 5 Pro. While the improved console is set to release on November 7, developers have already shared details about the Alan Wake 2 upgrades for the more powerful hardware. For instance, ray tracing will be introduced, and the graphics in performance mode will be enhanced.

On a pleasant side note, Remedy Entertainment decided to celebrate the release of The Lake House. The studio’s creative director, Sam Lake, showcased a themed cake with the expansion’s name on top, along with cream and cookies.
