Firaxis Games and publisher 2K have announced that the turn-based 4X strategy game Sid Meier’s Civilization VII has gone gold. This indicates that the main development work on the game is complete, and unless something extraordinary happens, there will be no further delays to the release. The new installment of the iconic series will be released on February 11. The game is Steam Deck verified, and it will also be available on all modern platforms.

The new game brings many exciting changes for fans of the series, but as reviewers have assured, most of the innovations have been beneficial. Specifically, Civilization VII introduces a new Legend system, which provides players with bonuses for completing campaigns. Due to the long development time, many players tend to not finish campaigns, so this system aims to address that.

Despite its niche nature, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII can be considered one of the most anticipated games of the year, though it certainly doesn't compare to Grand Theft Auto VI in terms of hype. The game is priced at the standard $70, and pre-orders are already underway.
