Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has officially surpassed an important milestone of over 1 million sold copies! The news came straight from the developers at French studio Sandfall. The number includes physical copies shipped to stores but doesn’t count players who picked it up through Game Pass. Considering the sudden release of the Oblivion remake, this is huge news!

The game was already off to a crazy start, selling 500,000 copies on its very first day. Now, just a couple of days later, it’s doubled! On top of that, on April 27, more than 120,000 people were playing Expedition 33 on Steam at the same time.

This is a huge win for Sandfall — especially since Expedition 33 is their very first game. The studio only has a few dozen people, but the RPG is getting tons of love from both critics and players.

Right now, Expedition 33 is leading the pack as one of the top-rated games of 2025. And if GTA 6 doesn’t end up dropping this year, Sandfall’s debut might just have a real shot at Game of the Year. Not bad for a new name on the scene!
