Players will no longer be able to "leave a message" in FromSoftware games in Elden Ring: Nightreign. In an interview, project director Junya Ishizaki gave an explanation of the choice. Players won't have time to leave or check their messages during Elden Ring: Nightreign gaming sessions, which run approximately forty minutes each.

"With sessions lasting roughly forty minutes, there isn't enough time to send your own messages or read other people's messages, therefore we disabled the messaging feature."

The decision was surprising because FromSoftware's games have historically relied heavily on message-based interaction. It improved the enjoyment and interactivity for gamers. But the team decided that the functionality simply wasn't appropriate for the new project.

Nightreign is not directly related to the Elden Ring narrative in order to honor the original. Instead, the game will offer a new adventure with unique difficulties and encounters while maintaining the atmosphere and intricacy of the Elden Ring world.
