In the cooperative action game Elden Ring Nightreign, the famous poisonous swamps, a staple of From Software games, will be missing. This was shared by the project’s product manager, Yasuhiro Kitao, in a conversation with journalists.
A similar location appeared in the Elden Ring Nightreign trailer, but it seems to be a completely different place. According to Kitao, the absence of poisonous swamps is due to the lack of their biggest supporter, Hidetaka Miyazaki.
The head of From Software is well-known for his love of swamp locations, and it is thanks to him that such areas are present in both Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series. However, Miyazaki did not take part in the development of game.Image: youtube.com
There is a possibility, though, that Elden Ring Nightreign will include an additional two-player mode. So far, the developers have only announced one-player and three-player modes, explaining that a two-player mode was excluded due to content balancing challenges.
At present, From Software is considering adding a two-player mode to Elden Ring Nightreign, but no final decision has been made yet.
Elden Ring Nightreign will be released on May 30, 2025, for PC and two generations of consoles.
