Teruyuki Tōriyama, the acclaimed producer behind legendary games like Bloodborne, Demon’s Souls, Astro Bot: Rescue Mission, and Soul Sacrifice, has unveiled his latest venture: Sirius Studio. As a subsidiary of Gz Group, Sirius Studio is dedicated to developing high-quality games for consoles and immersive VR/XR platforms, aiming to deliver world-class gaming experiences.
Tōriyama spent years at SIE Japan Studio, where he played a key role in creating some of the most critically acclaimed games in the industry. After departing from Japan Studio in late 2020, he joined Thirdverse, contributing to projects like Soul Covenant. However, as Thirdverse shifted its focus toward casual gaming, Tōriyama decided to take matters into his own hands. He founded Sirius Studio, where he now serves as both director and producer, with the goal of returning to his roots in crafting premium, large-scale gaming experiences.
While Gz Group primarily focuses on PC, mobile, and VR titles, Sirius Studio is carving out its own niche. The studio is committed to producing AAA-quality games for consoles and advanced VR/XR environments , blending cutting-edge technology with immersive storytelling. Their strategy includes developing original intellectual properties (IPs) while also collaborating with established franchises to achieve global recognition.
At launch, Sirius Studio boasts a team of 20 highly skilled developers with extensive experience in AAA and AA game development. The studio plans to expand its workforce in the near future, reflecting its ambitious vision for upcoming projects. Although no specific titles have been announced yet, Sirius Studio has already set its sights on delivering a large-scale, high-quality debut game that aligns with its mission to meet the highest international standards.
