During Nintendo's latest presentation, the studio unexpectedly unveiled The Duskbloods - an exclusive project for Switch 2 scheduled for release in 2026.
The debut trailer immediately sparked discussions: gothic aesthetics reminiscent of Bloodborne, mechanics familiar from Elden Ring, and the dark atmosphere of a world on the brink of collapse. Players will assume the role of the Bloodied - vampiric creatures, former humans engaged in an eternal war to possess the "First Blood" during civilization's twilight. Some characters possess special abilities similar to the "Night Warriors" from Elden Ring: Nightreign, including a hero with a jetpack.
As it turns out, this will indeed be an 8-player PvEvP multiplayer action game. Early signs of this were already visible in the trailer: similar to Nightreign, it featured few scripted cutscenes with various characters, while some gameplay mechanics seemed hastily borrowed from Elden Ring. The most telling sign remains FromSoftware's release frequency in recent years. At this pace, The Duskbloods couldn't possibly have been the studio's typical single-player title.
On April 4th, Hidetaka Miyazaki will personally reveal project details, including setting features and gameplay specifics.
