Epic Games has announced the return of OG — the much-loved Fortnite season featuring the original map of the legendary battle royale. This time, the return is set to be permanent.
According to the developers, OG will be back in the game on December 6 and will stay forever. Players can jump into battles on the OG map, with special OG trophies available and all ten original seasons cycling through one by one.
The announcement about the permanent return of the classic OG season gathered tens of thousands of likes within hours, with excited fans flooding the comments in anticipation of the update.
The Fortnite OG event first appeared last November and became incredibly popular, with nearly 45 million players online at once. Looks like this created the whole "back to the roots" trend, as Apex Legends and Overwatch 2 also introduced their "OG" events. Nostalgia generates interest and brings more money. What else does Epic Games need?
