The announcement of Neil Druckmann's latest game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, was met with a wide range of emotions, and only now have we received the first details about its setting. Druckmann shared this information on the Creator to Creator show.

The setting is an alternate future that diverges from our reality in the late ‘80s. According to the story, a new religion emerges in the Intergalactic universe and becomes dominant. Naughty Dog spent several years developing its lore, from its first prophet to its later transformations and distortions.

This religion originates and spreads on a single planet, which eventually becomes completely cut off from the rest of the galaxy. The protagonist crash-lands on this very planet.

She finds herself in a place where there is no one else, and now she must survive alone. This is one of the central themes of the project. According to Druckmann, while previous Naughty Dog games often featured a companion to talk to, this time the player will have to figure everything out on their own—if they want to escape the planet.

Although the prjoect has been in development for four years, there is still no indication of a potential release date. For now, all we can do is wait for future announcements.
