After Ubisoft faced a wave of criticism for shutting down The Crew servers, the developers of the series from Ivory Tower confirmed that offline modes would be released for both The Crew 2 and The Crew: Motorfest.

Ivory Tower did not specify when the offline modes would be available but mentioned that they are also exploring other solutions to preserve the games. On March 31, Ubisoft turned off the servers for the original The Crew, rendering the game completely inaccessible. The publisher was criticized online for this decision.

Until September 23, the standard edition of The Crew 2 can be purchased at a 98% discount on all platforms. The developers are also kicking off the second year of support for The Crew Motorfest — for example, on November 6, a new island will be added to the game, increasing the map size by 50%.

Considering Ubisoft’s current difficult situation — with its stock steadily declining — avoiding additional negative PR seems like a logical move, making the decision to add offline modes understandable.
