After fan backlash over the shutdown of The Crew’s servers, Ubisoft is finally delivering on its promise: offline modes are coming to The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest.
The company confirmed that The Crew 2 will be playable offline by the end of 2025, and testing is already kicking off soon. A beta begins April 30 for selected PC players. The goal is to gather feedback before the full rollout, especially since many online-dependent systems are being reworked for offline play.
To make the test fair, Ubisoft will give players a preset save file rather than using their personal progress. This way, testers can focus on functionality without worrying about messing up their real accounts.
While the offline update is being developed for all platforms, the initial beta is PC-only. Ubisoft says that offline support for The Crew Motorfest is also planned, but the team is currently focused on ongoing updates and improvements to the game. More news will come when that version is ready.
This move should give players more long-term access to their games—no servers required.
