At the State of Play showcase, TipsWorks and Infoldgames unveiled the trailer for Ballad of Antara — a role-playing game set in a fantasy world. Visually and graphically, many viewers likened the project to souls-like games, albeit with a distinct Eastern fantasy flair setting it apart from the most renowned series.

The story depicts humanity on the brink of extinction due to a war that transpired millennia ago. Players praised the trailer's intriguing premise: embarking on a journey to seek out mysterious divine entities in order to save the world. The game's unique female protagonist, wielding an otherworldly magical weapon, also garnered attention.

One of the most impressive looking games in terms art direction, visuals and animation I have seen yet. Its like Elden Ring but on steroids. If it actually plays and looks like that, that is.

TipsWorks, one of the developers, is a Chinese studio based in Shanghai. Their previous title, Pascal's Wager, was a mobile Souls-like experience later ported to PC and Nintendo Switch.

Ballad of Antara will launch exclusively for PlayStation 5 in 2025. Its potential release on PC remains unknown.
