Vessel of Hatred expansion for Diablo IV will go live on October 8, 2024. Blizzard Entertainment revealed the release date together with a cinematic trailer.

Vessel of Hatred will be the first story expansion for Diablo IV. It will continue the main storyline of the game, add a revamped location from Diablo II, introduce a brand new class for the franchise as a whole, a new cooperative PvE mode, and much more.

Blizzard has already opened pre-orders for the expansion. It will be available in three editions: Standard Edition, Digital Deluxe, and Ultimate Edition, each including various in-game skins and bonuses.

On June 8, Diablo IV reached a peak online player count of 38.9 thousand on Steam. This is a record number for a Blizzard Entertainment game since its release on the platform. The increase in online players occurred following the release of the fourth season, which was well-received by fans of the game. The statistical figures for Diablo IV on Steam were also influenced by temporary sales of the title in June with a 50% discount.
