The head of the Diablo franchise, Rod Fergusson, confirmed that Diablo IV will be enhanced for PlayStation 5 Pro. This also includes the upcoming expansion Vessel of Hatred, which is set to release on October 8. Fergusson added that he is very proud of the hardworking team that made this upgrade possible and promised to share more details later.

In the meantime, journalists have already had a chance to try the expansion. Gaming outlets have given it fairly high scores, with the PlayStation 5 version receiving an average rating of 87 on Metacritic, while the PC version garnered 86. The Xbox version, however, scored the lowest with 80 points.

Most reviewers praised the interesting storyline, the new Spiritborn class, as well as the updated systems, including runes and mercenaries. The new locations, especially the city of Kurast, reminiscent of Diablo 2, and the Dark Citadel, were also well received.

However, not all critics were ready to overlook the expansion's drawbacks despite its numerous improvements. One significant point of contention was the price: some felt that $40 is too steep for 4-5 hours of story content, especially for players not interested in raid activities.
