What is Blizzard known for? On the top of the list there should be lore and settings. Games like Warcraft or StarCraft have huge worlds, and several big games are not enough to explore it. Now, the company created a new team that will make AA games within its IP. The goal of this division is to make more active use of popular universes and experiment. This was reported by Windows Central, citing its own sources.

It is interesting to know that most of the people allocated to this team are from King, the mobile game developer. According to Game Pass Tracker, the division has at least 70 specialists who work on an unannounced project.

It is currently unknown what specific game the team is creating. Windows Central noted that there is no reliable information about genre or even platforms. Although King employees specialize in mobile games, it is possible that Blizzard's projects will also be released on PC and consoles. The fiasco with the Diablo: Immortal presentation should have taught Blizzard a lesson.

These are not the first changes in ActiBlizz following the deal with Microsoft. In May 2024, Activision opened Elsewhere Entertainment. Located in Poland, the studio is working on a AAA game that aims to define the genre.
