One big reason why we are thankful for the existence of courts is that we sometimes can get the data that we would otherwise never obtain. In one of the documents, regarding the Uvalde massacre, Activision shared the amount of money it spent on three of its successful CoD titles.

Journalist Stephen Totilo analyzed this court document and uncovered information about the budgets. It turns out that developing and supporting these shooters cost Activision a mind-blowing amount of money which exceeds any possible estimations by experts.

It is worth noting, though, that numbers provided by Activision also include post-launch support and game maintenance.

Considering how much Activision spends on Call of Duty, it's no surprise the company strives to maximize revenue through transactions by any means necessary. However, this raises a broader question: are we heading in the right direction? With significant dissatisfaction from players regarding the latest Call of Duty, perhaps a major failure like this could trigger internal corrections within the gaming industry.
