The January announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 revealed only the device’s appearance and the feature of backward compatibility, but all other details remained a surprise, including the crucial question of the console’s price. However, the head of Nintendo has spoken on this topic. The Switch 2 launch price will likely meet the expectations of customers.

Shuntaro Furukawa noted important economic changes that have occurred over the last eight years. Inflation in Japan has increased, and the value of the Japanese yen has decreased compared to the US dollar.

Despite global economic changes, Furukawa stated that when selling the Switch 2, Nintendo must take into account the expected affordability of the company’s products. This was the same approach Nintendo used when the first generation Switch was launched.

While Furukawa cannot yet provide specific numbers, many analysts have already shared their opinions. For example, $400 is considered the "sweet spot." However, there are also opinions that a higher price won’t affect the success—the first buyers are "insensitive" to the price.
