Sony Interactive Entertainment announced a significant leadership transition, effective June 1, 2024. Departing CEO Jim Ryan will be succeeded by two prominent figures. Taking the reins of PlayStation Studios is Hermen Hulst, tasked with guiding all internal studios and expanding PlayStation franchises beyond gaming into film and television.

Hermen Hulst Hideaki NishinoImage: EnsigameHulst brings a wealth of experience, having previously led PlayStation Studios and co-founded Guerrilla Games, the studio behind acclaimed series like Horizon and Killzone.

Meanwhile, Hideaki Nishino steps into the leadership role for PlayStation Platforms, overseeing a vast domain encompassing consoles, accessories, technology, PlayStation Network, and partnerships with both major publishers and independent studios. Nishino's extensive experience within Sony, including roles at Sony Network Entertainment, Sony Corporation, and SIE since 2006, makes him well-equipped to navigate this complex landscape.

Both leaders will report to Sony Interactive Entertainment Chairman Hiroki Totoki, who previously held the reins as interim PlayStation head.
