We are entering the season, when various organizations, platforms, and communities begin wrapping up 2024 and recognizing those who produced exceptional hits. The Golden Joystick Awards is one of the first significant ceremonies, and this year, it broke records for amount of votes, making it a true vox populi.
This time around, there was no controversy surrounding GOTY category. The title went to Black Myth: Wukong, a choice that is worth respect even if you voted for something else.
Another highlight was the third-place finish for Helldivers 2. The game took the internet by storm early in the year, and if it weren’t for some questionable decisions by Sony, it might have achieved even greater success. Nevertheless, the title managed to win four nominations, more than anything else.
