Disco Elysium is set to make its debut on mobile devices this summer, bringing its critically acclaimed RPG experience to Android users. However, this isn’t just a straightforward port of the original game. According to GameSpot journalist Lucy James, the mobile adaptation of Disco Elysium will offer players a completely different experience tailored to the platform.

In a recent video, James showcased how the role-playing game operates on Android. Initially released for PC in 2019, Disco Elysium later expanded to consoles, including the Nintendo Switch. Now, developers have reimagined the game specifically for mobile devices. As James explained, "It’s designed for shorter play sessions rather than long, immersive gameplay marathons."

The most significant change comes in the form of controls. Players will interact with the game using swipes and taps, with the smartphone remaining in a vertical orientation throughout the experience. "The interaction feels natural, much like using your phone," James noted. "You can swipe, tap, and navigate the entire game while keeping your device in portrait mode. It seems like you can play the whole game with just one hand."

ZA/UM Studio, the team behind Disco Elysium, announced the mobile version in early March. Despite internal challenges — including the departure of the project’s director and art director — the studio continues to innovate. Currently, ZA/UM is working on a new spy-themed RPG titled Project C4 , further expanding their portfolio of ambitious games.

With its mobile release, Disco Elysium aims to provide an accessible yet engaging experience for gamers who prefer playing on the go. Whether you’re a fan of the original or new to the world of Revachol, this adaptation promises to deliver a unique take on one of the most celebrated RPGs of recent years.
