The Korean publisher Krafton and Japanese studio Pocketpair have reached an agreement in which Krafton will handle the development of a mobile version of the survival game Palworld. The mobile version will be overseen by PUBG Studios, which will reimagine and adapt Palworld for mobile platforms. No further details have been shared.

Pocketpair continues to develop Palworld despite a lawsuit from Nintendo, related to patent infringement. The legal proceedings have just begun, and the exact claims Nintendo has against Pocketpair are still unclear. The lawsuit currently applies to Japan, but it could be extended to other countries. This may also explain why the game is not available on PlayStation in Japan.

Palworld was a big hit in the beginning of 2024. In January it reached peak of more than 2.1 million concurrent players - the third result in Steam history, losing only to PUBG: Battlegrounds and Black Myth: Wukong. Although, the current peaks are around 20-25 thousand players.
