High-end games on the iOS platform are selling terribly, according to recent gaming market data. Resident Evil 2 is among the best examples. The game generated $100,000 in revenue within a month and a half of its release.

Until January 8, while the game cost $10, 9500 people bought it. After the price was raised to $40, sales practically stopped - 175 copies.

A similar fate befell other high-profile projects. Assassin's Creed Mirage for $50 attracted 10 000 buyers, Resident Evil 4 for $60 sold about 8800 copies for a year, and Resident Evil Village - 7500. The most unsuccessful was Resident Evil 7, which at a price of $20 was purchased by 4200 people.

Against this background, Death Stranding sales look a little better: 14,525 copies for $40. But even this result can hardly be called successful for a AAA game.

These figures call into question the expediency of transferring large games to mobile devices. Even with the rapidly growing technical capabilities of smartphones, the demand for expensive projects remains low.

Koshi Nakanishi, who oversaw the creation of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, is the game director for the upcoming Resident Evil. In addition, he contributed to Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil 5. After Biohazard, Nakanishi acknowledged that it was difficult to decide the series' future.
