The survival game genre gained popularity in the early 2010s, and since then, its major titles have done quite well. One of these major games is Rust. After Facepunch released a console version of the game, a move to mobile seemed like a natural next step. Earlier this year, rumors surfaced that the studio was working on a mobile version, but official confirmation has only now arrived.
Facepunch shared a brief FAQ on their website, mostly containing general information — for instance, that the mobile version will faithfully capture the atmosphere and gameplay of the original game. But can such a statement be a surprise to anyone? However, there are some noteworthy details: first, Facepunch confirms that the game will be available on both iOS and Android. Second, a closed test for the app is set to take place early next year. This means that the project is in a decent stage of production.
Facepunch has promised to release further updates on the project’s official Discord server.
