Lucasfilm has unveiled Star Wars Maul — Shadow Lord, a brand-new animated show starring the infamous Darth Maul. The announcement was made during Star Wars Celebration, confirming the long-rumored project’s arrival in 2026 under the banner of Lucasfilm Animation.
The series picks up after the end of The Clone Wars, chronicling Maul’s dark rise as he attempts to dominate the criminal underworld. Sam Witwer, who gave voice to the character in past animated entries like Rebels and The Clone Wars, is reprising the role.

Although no full trailer has been made public yet, IGN reported that the teaser shows Maul igniting his trademark double-bladed lightsaber. His reemergence suggests the series will dive deep into themes of revenge, survival, and control over the galaxy's shadowy corners.
With Star Wars Maul — Shadow Lord, Lucasfilm continues to explore untold corners of the galaxy, bringing back one of its most mysterious and formidable Sith characters for a new animated saga.
