The Korean life simulator inZOI was released on March 28. The game is in early access and, as such, has some bugs and lags that the developers are working hard to fix as quickly as possible—for which we are extremely grateful.

In this article, we’ll look at which gameplay aspects have already been improved by the developers.

Fixes for March 29

As I mentioned earlier, the creators of inZOI have been quick to implement fixes. So, let’s see what was fixed the day after release:

👍 Buttons no longer disappear when re-entering the lobby while playing in Simplified Chinese.

👍 The lobby now functions as intended.

👍 Previously, family relationship settings did not match the values displayed in the UI—this has now been fixed.

👍 Custom outfits or accessories no longer disappear after restarting the game.

✅ Fixed an issue where the creator’s name was displayed incorrectly in some cases.

✅ Fixed the moiré effect (wavy patterns on distant grids or glass) that appeared on hair, foliage, or the screen under certain conditions.

The developers took a one-day break but then continued working on their project.

👨‍🦳 Lifespan rules have been adjusted: now, only elderly Zoi can die of natural causes:

  • Previously, virtual characters could die of natural causes at a fairly young age—based on a realistic probability system.
  • The lifespan system has been updated so that Zoi live longer and experience more meaningful moments before natural death becomes possible.
  • This change only applies to characters created in a new playthrough. Existing saves and current characters are unaffected.

👗 Clothes are no longer dirty after washing.

🔥 Fixed an issue causing the title to crash in certain situations.

Fixes for April 4

This is perhaps one of the largest patches so far. The developers have introduced several notable adjustments to enhance the player experience:

✨ New Features & Adjustments:

🔸 Age Customization – players can now fine-tune aging rates for their Zois and others via [Game Settings] → [Simulation].

🔸 Error Handling – a detailed crash log now appears if the canvas fails to load, simplifying troubleshooting.

✨ Key Bug Fixes & Balancing:

🔸  Sleep Mechanics Overhaul — characters no longer oversleep, disrupting in-game schedules. While sleep was initially realistic (triggered by fatigue), the duration has been shortened for better pacing.

✅ Karma System Refinements

🔸  Karma shifts now occur more gradually, preventing abrupt mood swings. Future updates will further align karma with contextual behavior.

Relationship Progression

🔸  Bonding speed for player-controlled families has been reduced based on feedback. Players can tweak these settings in the town edit menu for personalized gameplay.

✅ Pregnancy & Childbirth Fixes

🔸  Fixed a bug blocking the "Give Birth" action when the interaction queue was full.

🔸  Pregnancy visuals now render correctly even with slimmer character models.

🔸 Divorce during pregnancy tests no longer prevents childbirth (applies only to new saves).

Quality-of-Life Improvements

🔸 Zois now eat freshly prepared meals without delay.

🔸 Emotional buffs/debuffs expire properly instead of lingering.

🔸 Toilet sound effects have been shortened for realism.

🔸 Clearer error prompts for missing family tree data.

At the moment, these are all the changes that have been made to the title. But every day there will be more and more of them, which means the game will get better and better.
