Welcome, standard-bearer! It seems like just recently we were marking the boundaries of our territories with signs bearing amusing inscriptions. However, time moves on, and the means of self-expression are ever increasing. For instance, the cloaks detailed in our guide.
Cool stuff, but how can this not only adorn oneself but also the walls of a castle? It's unlikely that anyone will notice a small, colorful rag from afar.
Centuries ago, lords decorated their domains with decorative items so that everyone could understand whose territory they were on. Why should a player be any less than a king? In the sandbox world, anyone can become the lord of all cubes, which is something to be proud of. Now, we will explain how to create a banner in Minecraft or find a valuable item.
How to сreate a banner?
Fortunately, this item does not need to be purchased or require mods to install. It's all in the user's hands. With some simple manipulations, you can make the decoration yourself.
First, a player needs wool. Who’s the fluffiest around here? Of course, it’s the sheep! These adorable creatures are very easy to find in meadows. Hey, don’t rush to grab a weapon! Take it easy, there’s no need to kill them. Just open our guide and see how to build a fence around the animals.
Great, you've got a farm for producing wool! All that's left is to wait a little while, then take some scissors and gather the needed resource. For one banner, a gamer will need 6 blocks of wool.
Now, you'll need sticks. They can be obtained by breaking trees or bushes. Also, players can make them with their own hands. We talked about this in our guide on fences.
Everything is ready for producing banners. Place 6 blocks of wool on the crafting table, and put 1 stick underneath them.
Done! Now, all that's left for the gamer is to give the thing a unique appearance.
How to customize the appearance of a banner?
Creating design begins with dyeing the wool. This can be done right in the crafting menu. Add dye to the resource, which is obtained from plants (you can also make it yourself).
Then, patterns are applied to the banner. In the Java Edition, patterns are created on a loom, while in the Bedrock Edition, they are limited to the crafting table.
On one piece, you can place up to 6 patterns; there are also separate slots for dye.
Patterns are created using a piece of paper and a specific ingredient. Here are some of them:
- Wither Skeleton Skull — cool pirate style;
- Creeper Head — the creepy face of a monster;
- Bricks — easy to guess what will be on the pattern;
- Vines — a corresponding pattern;
- Oxeye Daisy — yields a Daisy;
- Enchanted Golden Apple — the Mojang logo.
Where to find banners?
Searching for decor will become a full-fledged adventure, filled with dangers and battles. But the risk will definitely pay off, as there are unique patterns in the world that a player cannot make.
Battles with Illager
The quickest but not the easiest way to get a unique banner. Illager bandits are extremely aggressive and cruel residents of the cubic world. Be sure to arm yourself and don armor to withstand them.
The desired loot is found with the standard-bearers (captains) or in the watchtowers of bandit camps. Such a pattern cannot be obtained anywhere else, so the risk is justified.
Woodland mansions
You will need to search thoroughly for this place. There are very few mansions, and inside, serious challenges await the player. Don't expect an easy stroll and prepare for the worst. However, inside, not only great loot awaits the user but also various banners:
- Gray;
- Light Gray;
- Ominous;
- Black.
The End
The rarest decor is found beyond the boundaries of the Minecraft world. Those who managed to reach the void will receive a purple pattern depicting a fallen civilization. It's definitely worth the risk for such a reward!
Now your character is ready to mark their kingdom! Create a Minecraft banner and conquer the cubic world.
