The teams that finished second and third in the VCT leagues of major regions (Americas, EMEA, Pacific, China) will start the tournament from the Swiss Stage. Teams that win two matches advance to playoffs, and teams that lose two matches are eliminated. Here are the first-round matchups:

After the Swiss Stage is over, we're entering the double-elimination playoffs, where the champions of the VCT leagues (Fnatic, Paper Rex, 100 Thieves and EDward Gaming) will choose their opponents in random order.

The champion of the VCT Shanghai Masters will be determined in the grand finals on June 9. The team that will move there from the upper bracket will hav a map-veto advantage: it will ban two maps out of seven, while the rest will be played if necessary.
