The organizers of the Esports World Cup have revealed the list of invited teams for the Rocket League tournament. Most of the teams are well-known, as 13 out of the 16 teams were seen in action at the last major in London.

The changes include the invitation of two South African teams (Limitless and Nkosi Ballers) instead of the fourth representatives from Europe and the USA (OG and Oxygen), as well as Across the Pond instead of Team Mobula. The rest of the teams remain unchanged.

The tournament format is quite standard. There will be four GSL groups, from which the top eight teams will advance to a single-elimination playoff.

Team Falcons have a strong chance to solidify their lead in the overall Esports World Cup club standings, as the team placed second at the major. However, organizations like G2 and FURIA will aim to secure the crucial 1000 points for first place.

It’s worth noting that the winning club at the end of the entire esports festival will receive seven million dollars in prize money. The prize pool for the Rocket League tournament itself will be $550,000, which is more than double the prize money of the London major.

The Rocket League tournament will take place from August 22 to 25.
