There are few esports events more iconic than The International. The Dota 2 World Championship attracts many eyes all over the world, even though its prize pool is not as big as it once was. However, we're not going to talk about the past, because Valve just announced the first details of The International 2025.

It will happen on September 11-14 in Hamburg, Germany. As usual, we expect at least a week of so called "The Road to the International" where sixteen teams will play the first stages on LAN but not in the arena. By the way, the venue for the Main Event is Barclays Arena, which can accommodate up to 16,000 spectators.

Once again, sixteen teams are confirmed, as well as the format of invites from Valve and regional qualifiers. Right now, it is too early to draw conclusions about participating teams. We would like to point out that the format will likely stay the same compared to The International 2024.

This is the second Dota 2 World Championship that will take place in Germany. The first one was organised in Cologne during the Gamescom exhibition in 2011.
