The Final Kombat, Mortal Kombat 1 world championship, is approaching us, and more tournaments offer direct slots to the winners. Recently, two North American Leagues have concluded, and now we know the names of two more participants in the main tournament of this season.

In the NA West, the main favourite to win it all would have been SonicFox, the greatest Mortal Kombat player of all time, but they refused to participate. Maybe it is because they are currently fourth in the global leaderboard, and with only one big offline tournament left, there is little chance they will be thrown out of the invite zone.

While SonicFox was absent, a new name has emerged. Hourglass_of_Rain is a relatively unknown player who did not have a long history of triumphs in his resume. However, he has been crushing several online tournaments and might as well be the future star of the game. He has a tough day, as most of his matches ended with a 3:2 score. Moreover, he lost in the upper bracket finals to WiZEGEMiNi and had to make a comeback. But in the end, he clinched the spot at the $200,000 tournament in Toronto.

The NA East league didn't have a clear favourite, but TheMIghtyUnjust and his Peacemaker claimed confident victories over all his opponents.

The Final Kombat will happen in Toronto on June 14-16, and both Hourglass_of_Rain and TheMightyUnjust will be there.
